Google introduces Site Performance in Webmaster Tools that shows you information about the speed of your site and suggestions for making it faster.
Performance overview
On average, pages in your site take 8.7 seconds to load (updated on Nov 30, 2009). This is slower than 90% of sites. The chart below shows how your site’s average page load time has changed over the last few months. For your reference, it also shows the 20th percentile value across all sites, separating slow and fast load times.
The load time data is derived from aggregated information sent by users of your site who have installed the Google Toolbar and opted-in to its enhanced features.
