SEO vs PPC – Which One Should You Choose?

Search Engine Optimization versus Pay Per Click: Which one is better? Which one provides you the better value for your money? When to use Organic Search, and when to use Paid Search?

The downside to PPC is that it cost a lot of money as compared to traditional SEO. You’re going to pay for every single click that comes through. That’s going to add up over time. In case you don’t know, it works on an auction system, so you’re going to pay more for more competitive keywords, which is not necessarily the same system with SEO. How Does Google Handle Special Characters?

How does Google handle ligatures, soft-hyphen, interpuncts and hyphenation points? Is it okay to be typographically correct or does this impose problems for search engine ranking?

For your info, the major search engine that does not handle non-ASCII characters correctly that is mentioned by Matt Cutts in this video is Bing.

How To Filter Duplicate Content With Google Webmaster Tools

Many websites that use CMS (Content Management System) make the same content available via different URLs. If Google knows that these pages contain the same content, Google may index only one version of the content for their search results. Sometimes, the version chosen by Google for indexing might not be the one you want indexed. Ignoring certain parameters in your website’s URLs can reduce duplicate content in Google’s index, and make your site more crawlable. With Google Webmaster Tools, you can specify up to 15 parameters you would like Google to ignore.

To specify how you would like Google to handle parameters:

1.On the Webmaster Tools Dashboard, click the site you want.
2.Under Site Configuration, click Settings.
3.Click the Parameter handling tab.
4.For each parameter, select the option you want. (If no parameters are listed, Google did not find any when crawling your site. You can still add parameters yourself.)

Please take note that Google will treat these requests as suggestions rather than directives.

Is Domain Age Important For SEO?

Is domain age important for high ranking at Google? Does Google look at the whois data to rank a website? Is domain age important for Google to determine website authority? Is it a good idea to buy an old domain registered in 1994?

Good news for link farmers! Whois data is not readily available to Google even though Google is a domain registrar.
